Day 7: Fri 3 Jun - Mosonmagyarovar to Halaszi to Tata

Ride: 102km

Last nights accommodation, breakfast and dinner with drinks cost a grand total of A$35!!

A fairly long and hard day in the saddle and I have a sore bottom to prove it. Head wind, bumpy and busy roads most of the way. Although the rural areas were nice and interesting the towns were a bit uninteresting and drab. You couldn't look around much as you had to concentrate on missing all the potholes. I thought I was back in Qld for a while. You can certainly notice the difference between Hungary and Austria. It is very rural here and by the look of the towns a little depressed. Maybe the bigger cities will be more interesting. Austria was so affluent and sort of postcard perfect in lots of ways.

Tonight we are staying on Lake Öreg in Tata, a busy and bustling local tourist spot by the look of it.   There are all sorts of watercraft, including a couple of Dragon boats of all things. Because it is about 32 deg at 6pm the locals are enjoying a swim or a paddle in a canoe. Don't think I will be long out of bed after a quick dinner.
