Eastern Europe is a sleeping giant as far as tourism is concerned and will
only get bigger and better (maybe those two don’t go together) as time goes
on. I’m so glad I got to see it before
it got 'cleaned up' as it was a special insight into life there.
A good solid tour bike would be ideal but due to the occasional rough
surface a mountain bike with rigid front forks would be good too. I would highly recommend the tour for
adventurous types who like to get away from crowds and enjoy the great
outdoors. If you prefer smooth bike
paths away from traffic and cute European villages, go to Western
Europe .
