Day 10: Mon 6 Jun - Budapest

What a great city with a very interesting 2,000 odd years of history. And now they have rid themselves of any outside influence, they are getting on with the job of proudly displaying some of their past. They have their work ahead as the years of neglect of some of these beautiful old buildings is starting to show. The restoration that has been completed thus far is world class.

The hop-on-off bus is great to zip around the city to get a snap shot of what's available. Tomorrow we'll do some of the sights in more detail, like the Opera House and Heroes’ Square. The Fisherman's Bastion, Buda Castle, The Citadel and their parliament were stunning.

Tonight we did a river boat tour and the light show on some of the landmarks is very pretty. I think it might be more spectacular than my favorite city Paris. But Paris is nicer. A couple of heavy storms with more hail put a damper on some of the sightseeing in the afternoon.

For dinner tonight we had Indian vegetarian, to be fair on our two vegetarians. However they never complain no matter where we choose to eat.  The Indian veggie meal was very tasty, but it didn't agree with Kev’s stomach.

Will we be all Budapested out by tomorrow; stay tuned.
